LARCO'S on W. McNichols, still
holds a very high ranking in the
food and drink dept. because of
its consistency . . The service is
very good, the meals excellent and
the cocktails as they should be
. . . The most important, I feel,
is the fact that regardless of how
many to be served, the delicious
food is prepared to everyone's
satisfaction without it being a
hurried thing to get you in and
out before you've even finished .. .
Its quite a pleasure to eat where
the management realizes that part
of a good meal is the relaxed
atmosphere in which it can be
enjoyed . . . The owners of Larco's
are in this enviable category to
the distinct satisfaction of its many
customers.

THE NEW DEL-M ONICO'S
restaurant on Farmer St. is design-
ed to be reminiscent of the Dia-
mond Jim Brady days . . . Even
the outside has red carpeting
under the canopy . . . But more
important, the food is good and
the service excellent . . . It's a
gourmet's paradise with all the
delicious dishes!

DURING A TERRORIST bomb-
ing of a French restaurant near
Tan Son Nhut Air Base in Saigon,
writes S/Sgt. Arnold Rose, one of
the victims of the incident, a U.S.
Air Force major, remarked as he
was being given first aid, "This
place has good chow, but the
acoustics are terrible!"

ARTIE DUNN AND The Three
Suns at Cabaret LaBoheme of
Hotel Pontchartrain, will record
"Don't Cry On My Shoulder" by
Turk Prujan, and his latest tune,
"Yesterday, Tomorrow and Today."
. . . both for which Turk wrote the
lyrics and music.

CERTAINLY ONE OF the top
trios in the country is the Jackie
Wayne group now playing at the
Penthouse downtown . . . Jackie
on piano. Ronnie Shandel. guitar,
and Norm Garber, bass, make up
a combo that gives out a lot of
very good music . . Ronnie and
Norm also do the vocals, and these
boys are really good! . . . Ronnie is
the leisure-lipped romantic type
songster and Norm belts out the
favorites with wide-range gusto .. .
No wonder people can listen to
these fellows all night!

Famous Inventor

Heinrich Waldes, a Jewish indus-
trialist who lived in Czechoslovakia
during the early part of this cen-
tury, achieved world-wide fame
from his invention of the snap
fastener. In his support of cul-
tural pursuits, he was responsible
for the first translations into the
Czech language of the Hebrew
prayerbook and other Jewish reli-
gious works.
