SS Shalom to Carry
Tourists to Expo '67

The Zim Lines' 25,300-gross-ton
flagship, the S.S. Shalom, will he
the first cruise liner to carry Am-
erican tourists to Expo '67 in Mon-
treal, where the big ship will serve
as a hotel for three days and two
nights while her passengers ex-
plore Canada's first World's Fair.
The Zim Lines announced that
the Shalom will sail from New
York May 20 and from Boston
May 30 and New York May 31.
The cruise, which includes an 11-
hour stop-over at Quebec, will
mark the Shalom's first visit to
Canada since she was built two
years ago and her first call at the
port of Boston. The Expo '67 cruise
was scheduled, according to the
Zim Lines, in order to meet the
anticipated heavy demand for ship-
as-hotel trips to the fair.
