American Friends Set Up
Hebrew U. Fellowships

NEW YORK (JTA) — A $300,-
000 fund for graduate study fel-
lowships at the Institute of Con-
temporary Jewry at the Hebrew
University has been established by
the American Friends of the
Hebrew University, it was an-
nounced here.
Lionel R. Bauman, former presi-
dent.of the American Friends, has
undertaken to initiate the fellow-
ship: fund with a $50,000 grant
made personally and in behalf of
friends,
The fund will provide fellow-
ships for graduate students from
the United States and other coun-
tries who will be coming to the
institute in pursuit of masters de-
grees and doctorates. It will also
help finance the study of research
fellows from the institute in the
U d States. The fund was es-
tablished following the recent
London meeting of the internation-
al committee of the institute under
the chairmanship of Ambassador
Philip M. Klutznick.

Bonnie Susan to Dr. Abram Romanowsky, who has completed his
course of studies in dental surgery at the University of Mexico. Miss ;.1.
Field is a senior in the college of education at Wayne State University.
The Sherman Family Club plans its annual Hanuka party for 6:30 At
p.m. Sunday with dinner followed by a Hanuka program and gift ex-
change, at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Philip Sherman on Bell Rd., South-
field.
Mr. and Mrs. Leo Silver of Briarcliff Rd., Franklin, will host a
party for members of the New Temple 8:30 p.m. Dec. 10, in celebration
of Hanuka.
The Ruda Family Club will hold its Hanuka party 7:30 p.m. Satur-
day at the Abraham Ruda residence. 12961 W. Nine Mile, Oak Park.
There will be a grab bag and refreshments.
