BUENOS AIRES, (JTA)—Greg-
ario Faigon, acting president of the
DAIA, the representative organi-
zation of Argentine Jewry, said
here, that the organization was
maintaining a "state of alertness"
in spite of "very tranquilizing"
statements made by Argentine
President Juan Carlos Ongania to

of the Chilean Jewish Representa-
tive Committee, reported that anti-

as long as the economic situation j
does not lead to the search for a
scapegoat.
He lauded the recent visit to his
country by Israel President Zal-
man Shazar as having contributed
significantly to excellent relations
between the Chilean population
and the Jewish community.
