The 46th anniversary of the founding of the Mothers Clubs of the Jewish Center will be celebrat- ed at an anniversary luncheon 12:15 p.m. Nov. 28 at the Center. Milton J. Miller, Center presi- dent, announced that special guests and families of members will be attending. The four presidents and the mothers clubs are Mesdames Ber- tha Cohen, 12th Street Mothers Club; Mildred Lefkowitz, Center- Davison Mothers Club; Lucy Sie- gel, Fenkell Mothers Club; and Fanny Grober, Dexter Mothers Club. The four groups meet regularly at the Center for social, education and civic purposes. vices to others. Concert to Benefit linsielans on Way to Success Many young artists on their way up have received a boost from the Music Study Club, a group of wom- en who love music and show it. The club will hold its 31st An- nual Artist Concert 8:30 p.m. Sun- day at the Scottish Rite Cathedral, when two prodigies, Richard Luby and Emanuel Ax, will perform. Luby, 22-year-old violinist from Detroit, will share the stage with the 17-year-old Polish-born pianist in the club's continuing program of cultural events. Proceeds will go toward schol- arships for talented young musi- cians; opportunities for young artists to appear professionally in concert—as Luby and Ax will be doing; music, musical instru- ments, records and books for universities and other cultural institutions in Israel; and mo- rale-building programs for pa- tients in hospitals and other in- stitutions. The club's special scholarship funds include the Arthur S. Purdy Memorial for Violin, Emma Scha- ver Scholarship for Voice, Sally Vaad Harabonim Has Women'sStudy Group The Vaad Harabonim, Council of Orthodox Rabbis of Detroit, has inaugurated a Women's Study Group, to meet 1 p.m. Tuesdays at the Julius Rotenberg Members of the Vaad Hara- bonim will alternate as instructors. This month, Rabbi Leizer Levin, president of the Vaad will teach the class. All women in the com- munity are invited. Detroit Socialites Dance to Be Held at Beth Moses Detroit Socialites will hold a dance 9 p.m., Sunday at Cong. Beth Moses. Music will be provided by the Bob Smith Trio. Refreshments will be served, and the public is invited. This organization comprises adults age 30 and over, and is de- voted to social, cultural, and phil- anthropic pursuits.
