An Allied Jewish Campaign conference—junior style—was held
by the officers of Keren Ami recently at the Esther Berman Build-
ing. J. M. Mathis, Keren Ami director, presided at the conference,
attended by 300 students of the United Hebrew Schools elementary
department. Hyman Safran, president of the Jewish Welfare Fed-
eration, accepted on behalf of the Federation a $2,500 check, full
payment of the Keren Ami 1966 pledge to the Allied Jewish Cam-
paign, and pointed out how the funds raised by the campaign bene-
fit every Jew in the community.
JOSEPH MEYERHOFF of Balti-
more, a nationally prominent Jew-
ish communal leader, has been
named the recipient of the Israel
Prime Minister's Medal of the Is-
rael Bond Organization. The medal
will be presented to Meyerhoff by
Israel Ambassador Avraham Har-
man at a December dinner in
Baltimore. A member of the ex-
ecutive committee of the Israel
Bond drive, Meyerhoff is a for-
mer general chairman of- the
United _Jewish Appeal and. has
served as president of the Associ-
ated Jewish Charities of Baltimore.
Sen. .Joseph D. Ty- dings of 'Mary-
land will be a guest speaker at the
dinner.

EMIL SPILMAN of Fannie Gluck
Chapter, Mizrachi Women, was re-
elected to the national board for
a one-year term. Mrs. Jacob Gold-
man of Batya Chapter was elected
alternate board member.
