NOW EVERYONE CAN SEE
STUDIO NEW CENTER
THE MOST LOVERLY
T
EVERY YEAR IT gets bigger
. . . Don't see how it can get any
better, but it does! . • . We're talk-
ing about the ultra-fabulous Hallo-
ween party by Kay and Jimmy
Saperstein . . . They've been hold-
ing the costume shindig for 22
years now, and sensational is just
another word for the house party
event of the social year in the
community.
OVER 80 people reveled in good
time at this year's fun-fest by Kay
and Jimmy . The drinks flowed
like Niagara, there were enough
hors d'oevres and food to feed
twice as many, and the decorations
had been worked on for three
weeks by Kay . . . For entertain-
ment, there were old standbys
Harry Gaines at the piano and
Jimmy singing and soft shoeing
. . . Pianist Don Hill took off work
at Gensey's to attend the party as
a guest, and tinkled the keyboards
to everyone's delight . . . Don has
opened at the Clover Club on Park
Ave.
THE COSTUMES WERE magni-
ficent . . . everything from harem
king by Harry Meltzer to Bat Man
Iry Marcus . . . Prizes were award-
ed to Jennie and Dave Diamond,
Blanche and Jack Levinton, Fran
and Sam Litwin, Edith and Max
Levine, Freda and Al Weiss, Helen
and Joe Herkowitz, Pearl and
Morrie Klayman, Helen and Joe
Caeser, Ida and Sam Lucas and
Lil and Dave Litwin . . . - Kay and
Jimmy have been giving out
prizes themselves all these years
. . . and so the tables were turned
somewhat when they received one
from Goldie and Charlie Young
and Edith and Harry Cohen . . .
The friends of Kay and Jimmy's
24-year-old son Bruce had a big
time too, as they came en masse
in some of the most elaborate and
original costumes we've seen in
many a Halloween.

THE DERMATOLOGY DEPT at
Ford Hospital boasts an excellent
staff, and it is with good reason
that people from all over the coun-
try come to avail themselves of
the fine combined talents . . .
Doctors like Charles Mendelson,
Harold Eisenman, Joseph Benin-
son, Marvin Ersler, Robert Freed-
man, and Martin Hart, are among
the "team" that has distinguished
itself in the dermatology field.

SANDY K 0 U F A X, unprece-
dented three-time winner of the
coveted Cy Young Award, gives
this as his favorite story . .. One
year, the Dodgers were on a spring
training trip down south . . . A
rookie outfielder from a wide spot
in some Midwestern road reported
for training . . . He had a badger
haircut with nothing underneath
. . . He was good and dumb but
could powder that apple . . . When
he hit a ball it would sail right
out of the county, and that was
before they had a rabbit in every
baseball, too . . . One day, the
Dodgers were scheduled to play
an exhibition game in one of those
little southern parks where the
scoreboard consists of two rows
of nails on which are hung sqllare
pieces of tin with white numbers
painted on them . . . The rookie
was put in the outfield . . . In the
second inning, he came to bat, got.
hold of a fast one and knocked it
out of the county-for a home
run ! Going into the eighth
inning, the score was one to noth-
ing-the rookie's homer . . . To
play for defense, the manager de-
cided to replace the rookie with
one of his regular outfielders .. .
As soon as the rookie heard he was
