Screen favorite Joseph Cotten shares the starring spotlight with a big, friendly, freedom-loving burro in the thrilling new motion picture, "Brighty of the Grand Canyon," starting Nov. 24 at the Birmingham, Alger and Carmen Theaters. Filmed in color entirely on loca- tion in Arizona and Utah, "Brighty of the Grand Canyon" is a film for all ages. It was adapted from Mar- guerite Henry's award-winning ad- venture story of Brighty, the burro who really lived at the canyon dur- ing the early part of this century and blazed the tortuous trail to the North Rim. Joseph Cotten gives a vivid por- trayal of Jim Owen, the famous government hunter who lived and hunted lions at the Grand Canyon while Brighty was there. Karl Swenson plays the part of Presi- dent Theodore Roosevelt, who ac- tually came to the canyon twice to hunt cougar with Jim Owen as his guide, and was so impressed by the area that he led the fight for its preservation as a national park. The producer, Stephen F. Booth, is a versatile and accomplished in- dependent film-maker, who up to now has specialized in educational and industrial motion pictures. The film's director, Norman Foster. is a veteran Hollywood actor, writer, and director. (Direct JTA Teletype Wire to The Jewish News) ..• • Enjoy A Great Entertainment Season!
