Beatrice Wienner, 76

Beatrice Wienner, widow of Har-
ris W. Wienner, Detroit attorney
for 52 years, died Monday at age
76.
Mrs. Wienner, 1900 N. Wasfhing-
ton, Royal Oak, was born in Rus-
sia and lived in the Detroit area
60 years. She was a Gold Star
Mother of the Jewish War Vet-
erans.
Survivors are a son, James M.;
three brothers, Dr. Hyman, Leo of
Kalamazoo and Harry Perlis; three
sisters, Anna of New York, Mrs.
Belle Stein of Toledo and Mrs.
Millie Beckenstein of San Fran-
cisco; and five grandchildren.

Louis Silbert,
Active in Politics
and Groups Here

Louis Silbert, active political
figure and Jewish communal or-
ganizer, died Oct. 17 in Los
Angeles. Born in Sweden, he lived
most of his life in Detroit before
moving to Los Angeles a year ago.
He was a charter member of the
Socialist Party in America in 1912
and was a foe of Communism. In
1925 he became an active Demo-
crat. He was a charter member of
the Workmen's Circle in Detroit
where he was an executive officer
for many years.
Mr. Silbert was a charter
member of the charitable organi-
zation to aid in the creation of
the City of Hope. Also he was
an executive officer of Rovner-
Lachowitcher Aid Society, the
Ekatarinaslava Aid Society and
the Russian - Polish Aid Society.
Mr. Silbert is survived by his
wife, Helen; two sons, one brother,
and three grandchildren.
His son William, known as Bill
Bradley on television and radio
here, has been on New York and
Los Angeles stations as well. Mr.
Silbert's other son, Wayne A., is
chief of the real estate division
in the munitions department of the
U. S. Army.
A brother, Morris, is Los Angeles
correspondent for the Jewish Daily
Forward.

Bill Finnk Slain
in Jewelry Store

Detroit jeweler William "Bill"
Finnk, killed in a robbery Oct. 29,
was a 1927 graduate of Detroit
College of Pharmacy and be-
longed to Downtown Fox Lodge of
Bnai Brith.
Mr. Finnk, 61, of 18070 North-
