the Detroit Israel Bond Women's
Division, noon Nov. 23, at Shaarey

Habers to Host Reception
for Bonds in Ann Arbor

Abraham Avidar, consul general
in the Midwest will be the guest
at a reception to be hosted by
Dean and Mrs. William Haber, 530
Hillspur, Ann Arbor, Nov. 20, in
behalf of State of Israel Bonds.

SHALOM TRIO

Zedek, it was announced by Mrs.
Morris L. Schaver, Women's Divi-
sion chairman.
Mayor Hushi has supervised the
development of Haifa as one of
the great ports of the world.
The Shalom Trio, Isr a e 11 -
folksingers, will provide the enter-
tainment. The trio, comprised of
Arie Kaduri, Ilana Gewirtz and
Shimmon Gewirtz, offers a wide
repertoire of Israeli and inter-
national songs.
Kaduri, accordionist of the trio,
was born in Baghdad and was
brought to Israel at the age of 5.
He grew up in a kibbutz and played
with one of the most famous of
Israeli entertainment units —
"Hexrat Ha-Esh."
Ilana Gewirtz is a flutist and a
professional teacher of piano, flute
and voice. Shimon is the guitarist
and arranger for the trio.
Highlighting the luncheon will

Final plans are under way for
Flint's celebration of Israel's 18th
anniversary, Nov. 13, 6 p.m.,
at the Durant Hotel, in behalf of
Israel Bonds, it was announced
by S. A. Goodstein, chairman for
the Flint committee for Israel
Bonds.

Joyce Knoppow and Robert War-
shawsky were united in marriage
recently at Imperial Caterers,
where Rabbis James Gordon and
Menuhim Goodman of Chicago, the
bride's uncle, officiated.
Parents of the couple are Mr.
and Mrs. Nathan H. Knoppow of
Kentucky Ave. and Mr. and Mrs.
Manny Warshawsky of Alta Vista
Ave., Southfield.
The bride wore a gown of peau
de soie, with long chapel sleeves,
scooped neckline, trimmed in em-
broidered alencon lace and seed
pearls, and a long, chapel train.
The elbow-length illusion veil had
a flower design headpiece trimmed
with lace and crystal pearls.

After a honeymoon in San Fran-
cisco and Los Angeles, the couple
is residing in Ann Arbor, where
both are seniors in the University
of Michigan Medical School.

Mrs. Morris Ginsberg, president,
said the show will be staged
by Ann Moore, couturier and
designer. Mrs. Jerome Silber-
man will be fashion commentator,
and Mrs. Joseph Medwed, vice
president, will be chairman of the
day. The program is being ar-
ranged by Mrs. -Paul Masserman.
The luncheon will precede the
fashion showing. Mrs. Jack Shenk-
man will bring greetings from the
Michigan branch of the United
Synagogues of America. For tickets ---

Mrs. Sarah Honigman, a foun-
der of the Beth Jacob Division
of Yeshivath Beth Yehudah, and
a tireless worker for the Yesh-
iva, is presented with a citation
of honor by Rabbi Samuel Ad-
ler, administrator of the school,
on behalf of Beth Yehudah. The
presentation was made at the
annual donor luncheon of the
Ladies of Yeshivath Beth Yehu-
dah and Women's Sabbath Lea-
gue, which gave a check for
$1,500 to the school.

Kenneth G. Peltzie, 32, has been
appointed assistant administrator
of Sinai Hospital, it is announced
by Dr. Julien Priver, executive
vice president.
Peltzie, a native of Kansas City,
received his BA degree from Wash-
ington University
in St. Louis, and
a master's de-
gree from the
school of public
health and ad-
ministration a t
Columbia Univer-
sity. He served
a residency in
hospital adminis-

tration with Sinai
Hospital of Detroit in 1957-58.

Upon completion of his residency,
Peltzie was administrative officer
of the U. S. Air Force Hospital,
Dyess Air Force Base, Tex. During
the past five years he served as a
member of the methods improve-
ment and hospital construction
group of the hospital branch of
the Bureau of the Budget in Wash-
ington, D.C.
Peltzie and his wife Susan will
reside in Southfield.

Morton Plotnick
Is New Program
Director at Center

Dr. Morton Plotnick has been
promoted to the position of pro-
gram director at the Jewish Cen-
ter, announces Milton J. Miller,
center president.
He is former director of educa-
tional services at the center.
Dr. Plotnick, 30, a former
teacher in the Oak Park school
system, received his BA and MA
degrees from
Wayne State Uni-
versity and his
PhD in adult and
higher education
from Michigan
State University.
During his un-
dergraduate days
he worked at the
center as a club
leader and with
the day camp. Dr. Plotnick
Long active in Bnai Brith
Young Adults, he served as that
organization's international presi-
dent during 1957-58. He was also
sent as a delegate to the First
World Jewish Youth Conference
which was held in Jerusalem.
He also served professionally
with the Michigan Regional Bnai
Brith Youth Organization as pro-
gram supervisor.
Dr. Plotnick resides in South-
field with his wife Evelyn and
their two children.

Ezra-Aid to Israel
to Hold Fund Raiser

Ezra-Aid to Israel will hold its
donor luncheon noon Wednesday at
Raleigh House.
Mrs. Celia Rosin will be mistress
of ceremonies. The invocation will
be by Mrs. Becky Dinetz. Greet-
ing will be given by Mrs. Hanna
Michlin. Guest artist will be Ruth
Goldman. There will be prizes.
