Pen Friendship Survives Time

Debra Marlene Cassel's Bat
Mitzva tonight will bring together
two old friends whose lives be-
came linked through a French
class project during World War I.
The two women are Debra's
grandmother, Mrs. Reuben Levine
of Strathmoor Ave. and Mrs. Ce-
mach Oiserman of London. Mrs.
Oi s erm a n, the former Anna
Schneerson of France, is a first
cousin of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, •
who rules his Hasidic dynasty
from Brooklyn. She and her hus-
band, a manufacturer who has
dealings with Israel's citrus indus-
try, live part of the time in Is-
rael.
