DANCING--
ENTERTAINMENT
AT THE 24K CLUB

The perfect blend for a perfect evening. The
music is soft and scintillating, the dancing is
delightful, the food — well, we are mighty proud of
it—come in, see why.

. . . and the prices are well within
reach . . . Music during the evening
is supplied by the Delray Golden
Earring Trio, made up of pianist,
bass and violin.
So these Hollywood kiddies were
playing house . . . Said one, "We're
going to have a big family — I
want three f a t h e r s and three
mothers."
Turk Prujan's latest find, tenor
song stylist Ricky Dee, is now ap-
pearing weekends at the Pent-
house Supper Club.
The Bagel on Woodward and
Vernor is just a little place, but
show biz folks know it as one of
the city's top places for good food
.. . People who travel around the
country especially, are mighty par-
ticular about what goes into their
stomach . .
Lou Stone comes up with another
winner in songstress Sudye Canova,
who opened a long engagement at
the Circus Lounge . . . She has a
wide repertoire and much ability
for gathering range during her pre-
sentation . Backing is by the
rhythmic Ernie Howard Quartet, a
group of fellows on piano, bass,
guitar and drums, who play a lot
of music! ... Yes, that's Phil Berke
you see hosting on Wednesday,
Thursday and Friday at the Circus
Lounge . . Remember Phil and
the Clique Lounge Bar on Cass and
Grand Blvd.?
Watch for word in this column
of a new ultra-elegant dining and
lounge emporium opening soon
in the downtown area . . . Will
be the plushest in Detroit, with
glamorous styling to be seen no-
where else like it in the area!
... With this will be added extra
emphasis on quality food at rea-
sonable prices plus good atten-
tive service.
Two kids came downstairs during
a bridge game without a stitch of
clothes on . The mother dropped
her cards on the table and scream-
ed, "What's this — coming down
undressed!" . "See, smarty." one
kid said to the other, "I told you
mom's vanishing cream wouldn't
work."

voiced opposition to proposals to
amend the New York State Con-
stitutional provision barring state
financial aid to schools sponsored
by religious groups.
In testimony before the Tem-
porary New York State Commis-
sion on the Revision of the Con-
stitution, Seymour Graubard,
chairman of the ADL's New York
board, said that any move to
weaken the prohibition against
such aid would "open the door to
possible weakening of the prin-
ciple of separation of church and
state and would, thereby, be the
precursor of possible interference
with freedom of religion and
further incursions against the
strength and integrity of our pub-
lic school system."
