Sukka on Wheels
The city that put the world on
wheels has come up with another
first: a "Sukkamobile."
The Lubavitch Youth Organiza-
tion has constructed 'a sukka on
, wheels which will be driven
through various sections of Greater
Detroit and stop at public institu-
tions, particularly schools and hos-
pitals.
The sukkamobile thus will ac-
commodate observant Jews who
might otherwise be deprived of
the opportunity to fulfill the
biblical precepts of living in a
sukka (booth) and saying the
blessing over the Inlay and
etrog (palm and citron).
The sukka—and its truck—will
be on display at the Mishkan
Israel Lubvitcher Center in Oak
Park for the first days of Sukkot,
Thursday through Saturday.
"Stewards" on the sukkamobile
will be members of Gan Israel
Youth. Rabbi Yitshak Kagan of
the GIY is directing the project.
