Education at Meeting

The Woman's Auxiliary of the
United Hebrew Schools will hold
it's opening meeting 12:30 p.m.
Wednesday at the Esther Berman
Building.
Mrs. Maurice Floch, program
chairman, will introduce Mrs.
George Gantz, moderator and
chairman of the day, for the pro-
gram "Hebrew Education — How
Does It Prepare Our Youth for the
World of Today?"
Rachel Badanowski, Stephen
Cooper, Dan Guyer and Marcia
Segall, college students who are
also Midrasha and Hebrew High
School graduates, will take part.
Dessert luncheon will be serv-
ed by s o c i a 1 chairman Mrs.
Erwin Friedman and her com-
mittee. Mrs. Is adore Goren,
president of the auxiliary, in-
vites friends.
Rachel, pre-medical student at
Wayne State University, is attend-
ing Midrasha and working part
time in the Hebrew school library.
The- recipient of several science
awards upon graduation from
Cooley High School, she also was
given the Mildred Simons Rosen-
berg Youth Award for outstanding
achievement in community activi-
ty.
Stephen, a Wayne State senior,
attended Brandeis University and
the Hebrew University in Jerusa-
lem where he also was a counselor
and teacher at a boys' vocational
high school. He has been youth
director at Cong. Bnai David dur-
ing the past year and attended
Midrasha two years.
Guyer, a Midrasha graduate, is
in his first year of medical school.
He served as a counselor at Camp
Ramah for several years and visit-
ed Israel with Ramah in 1962. Re-
cipient of the Mildred Simons
Rosenberg Award, he will be can-
tor for youth services at Beth
Aaron for the High Holidays.
Marcia, who is completing edu-
cation classes in elementary edu-
cation at Wayne, spent her junior
year at H e b r e w University. A
Midrasha graduate, she has been
involved in a number of commun-
al activities.
