At the Bnai Moshe Adolph Deutsch testimonial dinner, which,
with advance sales, resulted in over $180,000 in Israel Bond

his 85th birthday, was attended by 450 persons. Rabbi Lehrman
in his tribute, described Deutsch as "the representative Jew whose
life was bound up with the House of God. His business success
never went to his head, it went to his heart." Pearson said: "Israel
is safe because of its well-trained army as long as it has the support
of the United States .. . We are not sacrificing by helping Israel,
for Israel is doing a great favor for us—both Jews and non-Jews."

Memorial Award for Outstanding
Leadership in the
junior division of
the Jewish Wel-
fare Federation.
The award was
made at the an-
nual meeting

Eisenberg, chair-
man of the 1966
Allied Jewish
Campaign, "in
recognition of Purther
able leadership qualities and the
dedication of his talent to the serv-
ice of his community."
Purther is chairman of the
executive committee of the junior
division and its former vice presi-
dent. He serves on the board of
directors of the Jewish Home for
Aged and during the 1966 Allied
Jewish Campaign was chairman of
men's special gifts section. A 1959
graduate of Wayne State Univer-
sity, he is treasurer of Samuel C.
Keywell Co. is a member of the
Standard City Club and treasurer
Legislators to Address
Women= on Issues
"Conversations With Our Legis-
lators" will be the program of the
first meeting of the season for the
League of Jewish Women's Organi-
zations of Greater Detroit 12:15
Thursday at Hadassah House. A
dessert luncheon will precede the
program.
Unlike past opening league meet-
ings, which were limited to organ-
ization presidents, this will be open
to all league members.

family in memory of husband and

outstanding young person. Part of

man of the executive committee.
