Bnai Brith's Story
On Oct. 13 America's oldest na-
lave-born service organization will
celebrate its 123rd birthday. The
history of Bnai Brith is told for the
first time by Edward E. Grusd in
a new book, "Bnai Brith: The Story
of a Covenant," to be published by
Appleton-Century Sept. 30.
BB Blood Bank Rally
The first Bnai Brith blcxd bank
rallies of the season will be held
5-11 p.m. Monday and Tuesday
at Pepper School, Oak Park.
Anyone between the ages of 21
and 59 may take part.
LOUIS STONE CHAPTER will
meet 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, at the
home of Mrs. Louis Chernoff, 22138
Chatsford Circuit, Southfield.
There will be slides and a speaker
for a "Cook's Tour of Europe."

DETROIT LODGE 55, Knights
of Pythias, will herald its forth-
coming "Knight on the Town"
show with a big parade through
Oak Park Sunday. Knights in ar-
mor on horses, banners, bands and
drum majorettes will be in the
parade. The all-star "Knight on the
Town" Oct. 1 at Masonic Temple
will star Billy Daniels, comic
Herky Styles, direct from the Ed
Sullivan and Johnny Carson shows,
and an all-star revue. Tickets are
available at the J. L. Hudson Co.,
Grinnell's, Masonic Temple box of-
fice, or by calling Cye Ekelman,
entertainment chairman, DI 1-7050.
Proceeds will go to Pythian chari-
ties.

Annette Jacobs, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Saul Jacobs of Wooding-
ham Dr., became the bride of Wil-
liam Soloway in an evening cere-
mony at Beth Abraham Synagogue
recently. The bridegroom is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. David Soloway of
Evergreen Rd.
Rabbi Israel Halpern and Cantor
Shabtai Ackerman officiated at the
ceremony.
The bride was attended by
Mrs. Beverly Helmer, the bride-
groom's sister, as matron of hon-
or, and by Lillian Birnbaum of
Cleveland as maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Nancy Fuch,
Rosalind Janofski and Mary
Morgan.
Dennis Soloway, brother of the
bridegroom, was best man, and
ushers were Ronald Bovitz, Robert
Rockaway and Larry Kaluzny.
Janice Kaluzny was flower girl,
Aaron Betel was ring bearer, and
junior bridesmaid and usher were
Jack Jacobs, brother of the bride,
and Hannah Breit.
The couple plans to live in Royal
Oak.

Classes for Diabetics
Scheduled at Sinai
A series of five classes, spon-
sored jointly by the Michigan Dia-
betes Association and Sinai Hos-
pital, will be held on consecutive
Thursday evenings at 7:30, begin-
ning Sept. 29, in the Shapero School
of Nursing on the hospital grounds.
The initial lecture will be con-
ducted by a physician, the second
by a dietitian, the third and fourth
by a registered nurse and the last
by a dietitian.
The classes, which are open to
diabetic patients and members of
their families, may be joined by
referral from a physician. Appli-
