The Dubnove brothers came from a family of rabbis in Russia and emigrated to Canada, then the United States. Mr. Dubnove lived in Detroit since 1924. Among the causes to which he often contribut- ed were Chesed shel Ernes, Bar-Ilan University, Hebrew University, Ye.. shivath Beth Yehudah and Jewish National Fund. An amateur clar- inetist, Mr. Dubnove also was ac- tive in musical groups and fra- ternal organizations. Surviving him are cousins, nieces and nephews in Toronto and Is- rael. He was a third cousin of the celebrated historian Shimon Dub- now. Sadie Friedenberg Sadie Friedenberg, an active member of several local organiza- tions, died Monday at age 70. Mrs. Friedenberg, 20487 Basil, was born in Hungary and lived in Detroit 31 years. She belonged to Bnai Brith, Hadassah, Home Re- lief Society, Jewish Ladies Aid So- ciety, Adas Shalom Sisterhood and Zedekah Club. Surviving her are her husband, Hugo; three sons, Dr. Martin L., Edward and Eugene Goodfriend of Los Angeles; a brother, Ervin Klein; a sister, Hermina of Israel; and eight grandchildren. Prof. Hadas Dies Prof. Moses Hadas, one of the outstanding authorities on Hellen- ism and the Jews, who held the important post as Jay Professor in Greek at Columbia University, died Wednesday at Aspen, Colo., where he was participating in the annual program of Aspen Insti- tute for Humanistic Studies. Dr. Hadas was one of the par- ticipants in a 14lidrasha lecture series in Detroit several years ago.
