1 1/4 cups water
11/4 cupsflour

1/2 cup bread crumbs
1 /4 lb. butter or margarine
1 tablespoon sugar
Heat 11/2 tablespoon butter or mar-
garine with water in saucepan. When
water boils add flour . and salt all at
once and stir until dough leaves sides
of pan. Remove from heat. When luke-
warm, beat in eggs one at a time, beat-
ing vigorously after each addition. Form
a thick roll. Cut thin slices. Wrap pitted
apricot or plum, or jelly if preferred,
in each slice, forming a ball, and com-
pletely enclosing fruit or jelly. Place
dumplings in boiling salted water; cook
slowly five minutes. Fry breadcrumbs
in butter or margarine. Drain dump-
lings, put fried breadcrumbs on them
and sprinkle with sugar.
