The joint Brazilian-Israeli com-
munique closed with an an-
nouncement that President Sha-
zar's visit "has given both presi-
dents the opportunity to under-
score the friendly relations be-
tween Brazil and Israel."
It noted that a cultural exchange
agreement signed in 1959 made
possible "fruitful exchanges of in-
formation" in the fields of art and
science, while a technical coopera-
tion pact agreed to in 1962 gave
Israeli technicians an opportunity
of "contributing toward improve-
ments in Brazil's semi-arid North-
east earth."

Dayan Completes Talks
in DC; Flies to Saigon

WASHINGTON (JTA) — Gen-
eral Moshe Dayan, former chief
of staff of Israel and now a mem-
ber of Israel's Parliament from
the Rafi Party, flew Sunday to
Saigon, after concluding talks with
top officials and army officers on
the Viet Nam war.
Gen. Dyan spent a few days
in Washington collecting material
r a series of articles which he
tends to write after his return
Israel. At a private dinner in
-his honor, he met Secretary of
Defense Robert McNamara.
In an interview, Gen. Dayan said:
"In Tel Aviv, there were pickets
outside my house carrying plac-
ards saying I shouldn't go. The
Communists tried to push through,
a resolution in the Knesset (Par-
liament) condemning my trip, and '
the foreign minister disclaimed
any government connection with
it. Some critics thought that by
going to Saigon I would be identi-
fying Israel with the American
presence there."
oil his Vitanam mission the
Israeli general had this to say:
"I have really two main reasons

for going. One is a military one
and the other is people. I want
to see the relationship between
the South Vietnamese military and

the people. If you are going to
provide security for people in a
guerrilla war, you must have the
confidence of the people in the
soldiers. If they trust you, you
can achieve something."

They don't get a savings declaration of intent to
sign. They don't get a minimum deposit require-
ment to meet. No simple interest on their savings,
either. No 30 days withdrawal notice to give. No
early withdrawal penalty. And they don't get to
wait a full year for their earnings. None of those

things.

They just get a fat, happy 4 14% per year, (com-
pounded quarterly, 4.32% effective annual yield)
with no strings, no strain.
