Commission on Aging Gives to 'Operation Friendship' The Michigan Commission on Aging announces the awarding of the first grant in the state under the Older Americans Act of 1965 to "Operation Friendship" of the Detroit Section, National Council of Jewish women. The grant will be used to help finance a three-year project to locate adequate housing in the Detroit community for elderly rehabilitated patients at Ypsilanti State Hospital. An addi- ional goal of the project will be to interest volunteers, business groups and lay organizations in the housing, counseling and care of such patients. Sanford Solender, executive vice- president of the National Jewish Welfare Board, will deliver the keynote address on the seminar theme. Dr. Abraham G. Duker, profes- sor of history and social institu- tions at Yeshiva University, will speak on the "Jewish-Christian Confrontation." Dr. Lloyd P. Gart- ner, professor of Jewish history at the Jewish Theological Semi- nary, will discuss the "Negro- Jewish Confrontation." Irving Le- vine, New York area director of community relations of the Amer- ican Jewish Committee, will de- liver an address on "Anti-Semitism in America, 1966."
