NEW YORK — The American

Jewish Congress has received its
second $100,000 grant from the
Ford Foundation for the Interra-
cial Council for Business Oppor-
tunity.
The ICBO was formed in 1963
and is co-sponsored by the Ameri-
can Jewish Congress and the Ur-
ban League of Greater New York.
The ICBO was formed to pro-
vide business advice and assis-
tance to Negro businessmen and to
help them apply for financial as-
sistance when needed. Negroes
who wish to start their own busi-
ness are encouraged and guided_
by the over 200 New York City
businessmen, both white and
Negro, who participate in the
council's work on a voluntary basis
as consultants.

Histadrut Programs Draw
400 U.S. Youth to Israel

NEW YORK — Some 120 teen-
age American and Canadian Jew-

ish youngsters left for Israel Sun-
day to participate in the fifth an-

nual Histadrut summer camping
program in Israel for American
youth at Hakfa Hayarok (the
"Green Village").
The seven weeks of camping in
Israel at the Histadrut agricultural
school just north of Tel Aviv is
one of three types of summer pro-
grams sponsored by the Histadrut
Foundation for Educational Travel
for young people, in which a total
of 400 will participate this season.

JERUSALEM (JTA) — Shlomo
Shoshan, the Israeli translator into
Hebrew of the works of Soviet
poet Yevgeny Yevtushenko, said
Monday he had received a letter
from the poet, thanking Shoshan
for his translations. The letter, ad-
dressed "Dear Shlomo," expresses
appreciation for the Hebrew trans-
lations.

NEW YORK—Torah Umesorah,
the National Society of Hebrew
Day Schools, was recently empow-
ered by the Office of Economic Op-
portunity to administer a $70,000
summer Head Start Program in
various poverty-impact areas lo-
cated in New York City.
The Torah Umesorah-sponsored
Head Start project—part of a na-
tionwide program to give pre-
school youngsters an educational
head start—will have 10 Head
Start centers located in those
areas officially designated as pov-
erty areas. Nearly 300 youngsters
3 to 5 will attend.
