Wins Award for Kitchen Planning

The President's Award,
a commendation for high
standards of kitchen plan-
ning in residential con-
struction, was given for
the third time in the past
few months to Allan
Grundy. Bud Leve (left),
representing t h e Waste
King Corp. of Los An-
geles, makes the presen-
tation to Grundy, owner
of Age Construction Co.
He received this award
for his Victoria Woods
Subdivision on 12 Mile
Rd. just east of Lahser in
Southfield. The subdivi-
sion features a selection
of three-, four- and five-
bedroom ranches, in 2 1/2 -
bath - ranch, colonial or
tri-level styles.

They Made

the Grade

JEANE LITVIN of Mount Cle-
mens is among the 120 young men
and women from 14 states partici-
pating in Yeshiva University's 10th
annual Summer in Israel and Eu-
ropean Extension Tour program.
The group, which left the United
States Sunday, will return Aug,.
24 after touring five European na-
tions and Israel.

LAWRENCE RUDNER, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Rudner of
Northlawn Ave., has been awarded
a scholarship for a year's study
at the London School of Economics
and Political Science. He will take
an intensified course in the field
of modern European history.
Lawrence is a senior at Michigan
State University and was grad-
uated from Mumford High School.

HELENE F. FREEDMAN,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Milton
Freedman, 20400 Strathmoor, was
one of five Detroit students named
winners of the Alvin Bentley
Foundation Scholarship. Helene, a
graduate of Cass Tech, was award-
ed $750 to attend the University
of Michigan.

Mizrachi : Hatzair to Keep
Program During Summer

Mizrachi Hatzair, religious Zion-
ist youth of Detroit, will continue
all youth activities during the sum
mer months, under the leadership
of Judy Weinman, Eva Cik, Moshe
Fine, Jack Fine, Esther Goldman
and Judy Cik.
The group will continue its Sab-
bath afternoon youth activities at
Cong. Beth Yehudah, all through
the s u m m e r, meeting at 5 p.m.
Saturdays.

Judy Pick as President

At the last meeting of the year,
Galilee Chapter, Bnai Brith Youth
Organization, in Trenton, installed
the following officers: Judy Pick,
president; Karen Freidman, vice
president; Cindy Sadick, secrtary -
Janet Griffin, treasurer, and Cori

Membership is open to all girls
from age 13 through high school.

The "TEEN SCENE", the area

be a musical battleground during
the 1966 State Fair which opens
Aug. 26 and continues through
Sept. 5. Daily contests are sched-
uled to select the Grand Champion
folk singing group and amateur
