Rue Versailles, Oak Park, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary July 4. A dinner party in their honor at Raleigh House, will be given by their children Mr. and Mrs. Joe Feldman, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kol- tonow, the Israel Cohens and David S'hapiros. Mr. Kaplan, founder of Center Electric Supply Co. is now retired. He is active in many organizations, among them Sholem Aleichem Bnai Brith Lodge, of which he is president; Pisgah Bnai Brith Lodge; .Berdichev-Keshenev Soc- iety; Rovner-Latchovitcher Soc- iety; and Zionist Organization of America. He is a board member of the Jewish National Fund, and member of Adas Shalom Syna- gogue and the United Hebrew Schools. The couple, residents of Detroit for 53 years, has 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Brandeis Ladies Start Project -in Detroit's Library Detroit Chapter, Brandeis Uni- versity National Women's Com- mittee, has established a pilot vol- unteer service with the Detroit Public Library. Mrs. Lawrence Weiner, chair- man of the project, said the De- troit Chapter was selected by the National Women's Commit- tee to • launch the service pro- ject. JOHN MELLEN On Thursday, in the Crystal Ball- room of the Sheraton-Cadillac Hotel, Maryann Dunitz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Saul G. Dunitz of Muirland Ave., became the bride of Arthur Brian Greenstone, son of Mr. and Mrs. Irving Greenstone of Shrewsbury Rd. The ceremony was performed by Dr. Richard C. Hertz. The bride's gown was floor-length and fashimied of silk organza ap- pliqued with hand-corded Alencon lace.• From a' high neckline, the gown was styled in tiers of lace cascading into a train. Her head covering was a Velasquez cap of rose pointe lace, entirely embroid- ered with seed pearls and tied un- der the chin with ivory silk ties. Attached was a court-length, silk illusion veil. She carried four long- stemmed white roses. Mrs. Sheldon Baird Krause, sister of the bride, and Abby Sue Green_ stone, sister of the bridegroom, served as matron and maid of hon- or, respectively. Bridesmaids were Nancy Em- erman, Victoria Lasser, Susan Fuchs, Constance Brown and Mrs. Henry Wineman II. The bridegroom was attended by his father, Irving Greenstone, as best man. His groomsmen were his brother Robert Greenstone, Roger Siegel, Donald Schmerin, Thomas Radom, Skip Nederlander, Richard Siegel, Byron Siegel, Barry Siegel, Donald Goldbaum, John Heaven- rich and Robert Sloan. Upon their return from Mon- treal, Quebec City and Cape Cod, Mr. and Mrs. Greenstone will re- side on Merton Road. John David Mellen and Barbara Joan- Perlman recently exchanged marriage' vows in a ceremony at Cong. Shaarey Zedek. Rabbi Irwin Groner and Cantor Jacob Sonen- klar officiated. Carrying roses and lilies of the valley arranged on a' lace fan, the bride wore a sleeveless, Empire styled peau de soie sheath covered with a matching lace bolero jacket and with a chapel-length train. Her veil of silk illusion was held by a small crown of ivory silk rose petals. Mrs. David Drachler was the bride's matron of honor. Audree I Burdick, Barbara Kellman, Kath- ryn Meistrich and Melvyn Ruben- fire, the bridegroom's sister, served as bridesmaids. Attending the bridegroom as best man was James Budman. GOLDSMITH at a dinner in farewell upon his retirement from comprehensive Jewish pro- fessional leadership in this city for the past 36 years. Goldsmith will retire July 1 from his position of ex- ecutive vice president of the Jew- ish Federation of Metrpolitan Chi- cago, the Jewish Welfare Fund and the Combined Jewish Appeal. 4
