The 11th annual convention of
Agudas Neshei Ubenos Chabad, the
Lubavitch Women's Organization,
was held in New York City the
weekend of May 13-15, with meet-
ings and seminars Friday night
and Saturday, and the main
session and luncheon on Sunday
at the Statler-Hilton Hotel. Over
a thousand delegates from branch-
es in the United States, Canada,
and overseas attended.
"The Sabbath — the Essence
of the Jewish Home" was the cen-
tral theme of the convention's dis-
cussion and symposiums, and the
women considered the ways and
means of creating in their com-
munities a greater awareness of
the significance of Sabbath ob-
servance and its important role
in building a wholesome family
life.
Mrs. Fay Kranz represented the
Detroit chapter of Agudas Neshei
Ubenos Chabad. At one of the
seminars Mrs. Kranz reported on
the activities of the local branch.
The convention highlight took
place Sunday evening when the de-
legates were received in a special
audience by the Lubavitcher Reb-
be, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneer-
son, world leader of the Luba-
vitcher movement.
