Round Table Women Planning Spring Meeting

will describe the council's tutorial
program at the spring meeting of
the Women's Division of the De-
troit Round Table, National Con-
ference of Christians and Jews,
12:15 p.m. Wednesday at the Most
Holy Trinity Church Family Cen-
ter.
A social hour will precede the
election and installation of
officers. Rt. Rev. Msgr. Clement
H. Kern, pastor of Most Holy
Trinity, will speak.

Scholarships to Human Relations
Workshops are being offered by
the Detroit Round Table. To be
held on various university cam-
puses throughout the summer, the
workshops are designed for edu-
cators and people active in com-
munity affairs.

glish, Yiddish, Hebrew and other
languages. Rose Mash will com-
plete the program with piano
solos. A past president of the
Music Study Club and choral di-
rector of the Sholem Aleichem
Choral Group she is accompanist
to the Ahavas Achim Choral
G r o u p. Refreshments will be

Dr. reicher to Address Yeshiva U.
Dinner June I; Hosted by Borinans

Dr. Morton D. Teicher, who
joined Yeshiva Univeksity in 1956
and was appointed dean of the
Wurzweiler School of Social Work
in 1959, will address the dinner
of the Detroit Friends of Yeshiva
University June 1, at the Sheraton-
Cadillac Hotel. Dr. Jacob E. Gold-
man, dinner chairman, announced
this year's dinner is being hosted
by Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Borman.
All contributions will be directed
exclusively for scholarship pur-
poses at Yeshiva University.
Under Dr. Teicher's leadership,
the school received its accredita-
tion from the Council on Social
Work Education in 1959 and this
accreditation was confirmed with
a commendation in 1962.
Earlier, he had been with the
University of Toronto where he
served an the medical and social
work faculties of the university
and as chief psychiatric social
worker at the Toronto Psychiatric
Hospital for eight years.
During World War II, Dr.
Teicher served with the army in
the China-Burma-India theater as
a military psychiatric social
worker and clinical psychologist.
Before going to Toronto in 1948,
he was head social worker in the
New England area for the U.S.
Veterans Administration.

Dr. Teicher is a member of
the National Association of Social
Workers, American Anthropologi-
cal Association and the Society
for Applied Anthropology, and has
written for scholarly journals in
the fields of psychology, psy-
chiatry, social work and anthro-
pology. His publications include
papers on Eskimo psychosis,
Eskimo adoption, and the relation-
ship between social science and
social work. He is book review
editor of the Journal of Jewish
Communal Service, and a member
of the editorial board of Human
Organization, the journal of the
Society for Applied Anthropology.

The Jewish News regrets it er-
roneously omitted the names of
Mrs. Lea Rubel and Mrs. Anna
Leopold as delegates to the First
Midwest Region Older Adult non-
ference in Pewaukee, Wis.
Mrs. Rubel, a delegate of the
Council of Mothers Clubs, drew up
the resolution urging Jewish wel-
fare federations to take the leader-
ship in developing local financial
sponsorship for housing for the
elderly. Mrs. Leopold was a dele-
gate from the Friendship Club.
