Negev in the south, 21 towns and
, their people are bearing
with endurance the disadvantages
Common to all new frontier

communities.

Built from scratch in the past few
years to create places for 200,000 new
immigrants to live and work in Israel,
practically no one of these towns
has enough schools, parks, recreational
or health facilities.
Nor can their residents look to themselves
to make up these deficiencies. Nearly all
these people come from countries where they
have been disadvantaged in education
and job skills. Their group contains the
largest number of welfare cases, the lowest
paid workers in Israel, the most unemployed.
Through the UJA you can help speed the
development of these townships and the successful
absorption of the hard-working immigrants
living in them.
