Not this Trip NEW YORK (JTA)—Readers of the travel section of the New York Times were startled by an adver- tisement of El Al Israel Airlines offering a 62-day African tour, in- cluding Egypt, for $3,703. The African tour was one of eight from New York offered in a seven-column advertisement de- scribed as El Al's "But-I-Don't- Want-To-Go-to-Israel" tours. Anoth- er El Al offering included Leba- non in a 19-day tour for $659. Several readers of the paper called the JTA to ask whether. it was correct that the Israel., airline was offering tours tc` Egypt. A spokesman for El At— confirmed that Egypt was one of the points on the El Al African deluxe tours but explained that El Al did not fly into Egypt it- self. Passengers desiring to in- clude Egypt in this tour are transferred by El Al to other airlines permitted to land there. The advertisement is designed to inform travelers that El Al pro- vides service to many points be- sides Israel. "Basically, we're an international airline, and we stop at 17 cities in Europe and Africa," the advertisement stated. "Sur- prised? Good. Then you'll also be surprised at some of the tours we have. Tours that don't go to Israel for instance, and tours that go from Israel to places you'd never expect us to send you." The El Al deluxe tour including Egypt also offered stops at Iran, South Africa, Rhodesia, Tanzania, Zanzibar, Kenya, Uganda, Ethio- pia and Israel. Lawyer Jacob Gilbert; Brandeis' Son-in-Law NEW YORK (JTA)—Jacob H. 'Gilbert, a prominent Jewish attor- ney and a son-in-law of the late Supreme Court Justice Louis D. Brandeis, died here at age 83. After Justice Brandeis' death in 1941,. Mr. Gilbert devoted much of his time to the founding of Bran- deis University at Waltham, Mass. Justice Brandeis' daughter, Mrs. Susan Brandeis Gilbert, 'survives her husband. Mr. Gilbert devoted many years to active work in behalf of Brandeis University. After the justice's death in 1941, Mr. Gilbert spent much time studying the concept of such a university and after its founding in 1948, worked at the campus on details of its develop- ment. A graduate of the New York University's law school, Mr. Gil- bert met Susan Brandeis, who had been admitted to the bar a few years previously, when they pleaded the opposite sides of a minor landlord-tenant case in New York. They were married Dec. 22, 1925, in the meeting house of the Society for Ethical Culture. Eventually, the couple went into a law partner- ship, as Gilbert and Brandeis. He retired 10 years ago. Besides his wife, Mr. Gilbert leaves two sons, Louis B. and Frank B. ; a daughter, Mrs. Alice Popkin; and two grandchildren. Shrinks Hemorrhoids Without Surgery Stops itch—Relieves Pain For the first time science has found a new healing substance with the as- tonishing ability to shrink hemor- rhoids and to relieve pain — without surgery. In case after case, while gently relieving pain, actual reduc- tion (shrinkage) took place. Most amazing of all — results were so thor- ough that sufferers made astonishing statements like "Piles have ceased to be a problem!" The secret is a new healing substance (Bio-Dyne®)— dis- covery of a world-famous research institute. This substance is now avail- able in suppository or ointment form called Prepat•ation H.
