National Federation of Temple Sisterhoods Airs. Hauser Named
as jiff Women's
to Hold Annual Convention in Detroit

The annual convention of the
National Federation of Temple
Sisterhoods (NFTS) will be held
at Temple Beth El April 25-27.
Eleanor B. Schwartz of New
York, associate director of NFTS,
will preside at several of the sem-
inars, in addition to installing the
new officers of the Michigan Fed-
eration of Temple Sisterhoods.
A native of C h is a g o, Miss
Schwartz has been associated with
• the American Reform movement
for many years. Prior to her ap-
pointment to the National Federa-
•tion of Temrle Sisterhoods,. Miss
Schwartz served as associate direc-
tor of the National Federation of
Temple Youth, the youth affiliate
of the Union of American Hebrew
Congregations.

Women for the UF
Arrange 'Inforama'

Women for the United Founda
tion (WUF) will sponsor an "In-
forama" at the Rackham Building,
60 Farnsworth, Thursday, 1 p. m.
The "Inforama" will be the tap-
ing of WWJ-TV's "Living" show,
featuring Carol Duval, Lorene
Babcock and Ed. Allen. It will be
broadcast at 9 a.m., April 25.
This will be the third in a series
of four television "Inforamas" be-
ing presented in the tri-county
area. Their purpose is to inform
workers and the public, particu-
larly women, of the objectives and
services of the UF and its 207
agencies.
The fourth "Inforama" will be
taped at the ToWn and Country
Club, Southfield, April 28.
Each program follows the for-
mat of the popular "Living" show
but spotlights the work of one or
several of the Torch Drive serv-
ices in the area. This is done with
film clips, demonstrations and
interviews which focus on the
services.
Finalizing plans for the April 21
"Inforama" are Mrs. Isadore Win-
kelman and Mrs. Julian Priver.

Jewish Welfare Federation, an-
nounces the nomination of a slate
of officers and members of the
board of directors to be presented
at the division's annual meeting,
June 8, at the Jewish Center.
Mrs. I. Jerome Hauser was nom-
inated for president, with retiring
president, Mrs. Jones, nominated

Plan 'Hai' Parties for Israel Bond Benefit

A series of "Hai" parties will
precede the all-Israel fashion show
I which will have its Detroit pre-
miere May 12 at the Shaarey Ze-
dek. The theme of "Hai"—Life-
marking the 18th anniversary of
Israel's statehood — is being
stressed at the parties.
Mrs. Harold Robinson will host a
tea next Wednesday at her home,
20551 Oldham Rd., Southfield. It
will be addressed by Mrs. Max
Stollman, Israel Bond honorary
woman's division chairman and a
Woman of Valor.
Mrs. Maurice Shacket will host
a brunch next Thursday at her
home, 24349 Lafayette Circle,
Southfield. It will be addressed
by Mrs. Sam Fishman, president
of the Detroit Council of Pioneer
Women.
The all-Israel fashion show and
luncheon is sponsored by the De-
troit Israel Bond Women's Divi-
sion.
Mrs. Louis M. Elliman is fash-
ion show chairman.
More than 15 ready - to - wear
firms are represented in the col-
lection at the fashion show. There
will be 53 original creations. All
of the merchandise has been sup-

plied by the Israel Company for
Fairs and Exhibitions in coopera-
tion with the Fashion Center of
the Israel Export Institute in Tel
Aviv.
Dorothy Sarnoff, star of stage
and screen, will be the guest com-
mentator at the all-Israel fashion
show-luncheon. A feature of the
show will be the presentation of
the "Star of Israel" diamond crea-
tion presented by Mr. and Mrs.
Norman Allan.

board of governors of the Jewish
Welfare Federation.

R. Marcuse, is made up of Mes-

Frank, Ben Mossman, Harold A.
Robinson, Alexander W. Sanders
and Samuel Winer. •
Additional nominations. may be
made with petitions signed by 25
members of the women's division.
All women who have contributed
to the 1966 Allied Jewish Cam-
paign are members of the division
and are entitled to vote at the an-
nual meeting.
