Consul-General Jacob Barmore, guest speaker, who made his farewell
appearance in Detroit at this affair, was presented with a silver tray
for his devoted service to the Israel Bond cause. From left are Mrs.

included Jan Peerce and Rich-
ard Tucker. He and his brothers,
Murray and Dale, appeared to-

as the Three Lind Brqthers.

Will Remember the
Six Million at Service

Shaarit Haplaytah, (Survivors of
1945), will hold its annual Yizkor
services for the Six Million mar-
tvrs 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Cong.
Shaarey Shomayim.
Speakers will be Rabbi Leo
Goldman, Mordecai Teller and
Martin H. Rose. Survivors of con-
centration camps and ghettos will
light the candles, and Memorial
prayers will be chanted by Cantor
Shabtai Ackerman with music pro-
vided by Bella Goldberg. There
will be a presentation by war vet-
erans.
The public is invited.

Dr. Paul Wolf, professor of
pathology at Wayne State Univer-
sity and director at the Detroit
Institute of Cancer Research, was
a member of the medical school
research team which last week
announced a significant step to-
ward a possible cure for cancer.
Melvin Rosenblatt, sophomore
medical student, also worked on
the treatment.
A group of medical students and
doctors worked four years on a
method of treating cancer using
malignant tissue. They made pub-
lic their research on 20 volunteer
patients, all with far advanced
malignant tumors or lymphomas.
All the patients had been treated
by a vaccine made from their
own tumors.
Two of them, described as hope-
less cases, were completely freed
of cancerous tumors. Eight others
had their cancers halted or its
progress slowed.
