She was chosen for the role of Rosalie Lautmannova after a search for an actress who could 'meet the great challenge repre- sented by the theme. The Czech di- rectors had to go to Warsaw to find an actress for that role, and Mme. Kaminska was their happy choice for a very sad role. Her first perform- ance took place in 1905 in Warsaw, where at the age of 5 she played a child role in one of Shakespeare's plays. Her mother, the famous ac- tress Esther Rachel Kaminska (1869-1925), was a member of the same cast. Esther Kaminska was then called By Danny Raskin WE HAD A NEW EXPERI- ENCE, last week . .
