Flower, Garden Show to Open at Fairgrounds

CLOSE YOUR EYES IF YOU MUST!

This may be the most shocking motion picture you have ever seen!

STRANGE!
• ,•,••

The annual Flower and Garden
Show of Michigan, produced by
the Michigan State Fair Authority,
will open Saturday in the coliseum
and dairy buildings of the Michigan
State Fairgrounds. It runs through
April 3.
At least 15 major gardens con_
structed and planted by Detroit
area nurseries and garden clubs
will be on display. Each will have

a different theme.
Shown will be complete back-
yard plans and special effects the
gardener can get with various
materials. Highlights of these
major gardens will be the flowers
and plants themselves-all labeled
and practically all available in the
Detroit market. Hours are 11 a.m.
to 11 p.m. daily.

HAIFA - The contribution of-
fered by Technion, the Israel In-
stitute of Technology, to Israel's
present export drive is scientific
and engineering know-how, as well
as direct sale of research to for-
eign sponsors. This it is doing on
a growing scale, according to Prof.
Yosef Karni, director of the Tech-
nion Research and Development
Foundation, in an interview with
the Jerusalein Post.
During the last academic year,
the Technion Foundation received
1,000,000 pounds worth ($333,000)
of orders for research projects
from foreign sponsors, most of
them long-term projects carried
out for different agencies of the
U.S. government. During the first
half of this academic year, the
foreign-sponsored research proj-
ects already total 14,000,000
pounds ($4,666,000), and it is ex-
pected that this year's total will
present a considerable increase.
The research for foreign spon-
sors is only a part of the founda-
tion's work. The balance is pro-
vided by local sponsored research,
mainly. by government ministries
and agencies, and such public
firms as Tahal and Mekorot. The
foundation also did about half of
its "business' through its testing
laboratories for local industry.

Haar
that the Yiddish, theater, at least
that phase of it which is Jewish
at ifs core, differs from the thea-
ter of the Western world.
Leading roles will be played by,
among others, Shirley Benyas and
Leo Mogill.
Since 1941, $150 billion worth
Tickets will be sold at the door. of U.S. Saving Bonds have been
issued.
