Israel Consul-General Jacob Bar-
more is making his farewell ap-
pearance in Detroit at the cham-
pagne dinner-dance to be hosted
by Shaarit Haplaytah and co-spon-
sored by the United Jewish Social
Club 8:15 p.m. April 2 at Shaarey
Zedek Synagogue. Barmore will
receive an award at the affair.
Barmore is ending a three-year
tour of duty as consul general for
the Midwest witth jurisdiction over
13 states. Previously he spent three
years in the Israeli Embassy at
Buenos Aires. He is now returning
to Israel after a six-year absence.
George Jessel, "Toastmaster-
General of the U.S.A.," star of ra-
dio, TV, stage and the movies, will
be guest star at the dinner-dance
on behalf of Israel Bonds. Music
