Cowboy on TV for Manischewitz
"How does a Jewish cowboy
celebrate Passover?" This is the
question posed by Manischewitz.
Harold Stern from Centerville,
Tex., and his father own a 1,300
acre ranch where they breed An-
gus cattle and raise Appaloosa
horses. The commercials, in about
1,000 radio commercials and TV
spots, shot in Stern's native habi-
tat, are tongue-in-cheek, hard-rid-
ing vignettes which help authenti-
cate the "Jewish cowboy legend."
One such sequence spoofs - the
grim cowboy's dramatic entrance
into an oldtime Western bar. All

KOSHER PASSOVER BASKETS
Jewish Meals
Our mothers and grandmothers,
ever anxious to please their men-
folk as well as to enhance their
own reputations as good "Bala
bostes" (housewives), would think
up novelties for their table that.
were sure to be appreciated. Fish
was such a novelty, even when not
stuffed which was reserved for Sab-
bath and holidays. A great many
Jews lived in Eastern Europe
where only fresh water fish was
available. Today's recipe calls for
fresh water fish served with an egg
sauce and with a cucumber mold
it becomes a true "iVlaichel" and
here is how to make both:

European WZO Meeting
Looks to Reorganization
PARIS (JTA) — Problems of
ideology and structure of the
World Zionist movement were dis-
cussed here Monday at a meeting
of the European section of the
committee of– the World Zionist
Organization charged with reorga-
nizing the movement.
Further discussion of the various
proposals for reorganization were
postponed to a meeting of the Euro-
pean group to be held here in June,
with final decisions to be made
at a meeting of the full commit-
tee in Geneva in July.
Addressing the meeting, Dr. Na-
hum Goldmann, president of the
WZO, stressed the need for the
reorganization of the movement
and the new structures which have
to be adapted to conditions in vari-
ous countries. He also pointed to
the necessity for diminishing the
influence of political parties on
Zionist federations.

JUST CALL
goes silent as the Jewish cowboy
identifies himself, points an omi-
nous finger toward the bar and
-gestures "I'll take 'em all!" The
"all" being shown -in a quick zoom
is a panoramic spread of all
1,000 food items in the Manische-
witz line! Manischewitz doesn't
stop here, however. It is offering
a free record featuring Jewish
Cowboy Harold Stern — and in-
cludes some Israeli ranch-type
music to boot.
