NEW YORK - Leonard Bern- stein, music director of the New York Philharmonic Symphony Society, has been nam- ed a winner of one of the three 1966 Frank L. Weil Awards, given biennally by the National Jewish Welfare Board for distinguished contribution in its three major fields of work. He was voted the award "for distinguished contri- bution to the advancement of American Jewish culture." The other two 1966 winners are Alan J. Altheimer, Chicago attor- ney and civic leader and a JWB vice-president, who will receive the award "for distinguished contri- tion to the advancement of the Jewish Community Center field," and Mrs. Louis Ginzberg, who is being cited "for distinguished con- tribution to the welfare of Jewish personnel in the U.S. Armed Forces."
