Western Michigan Hosts Medieval Judaism Parley Sessions on Medieval Judaism were being held through today at the third biennal Conference on Medieval Studies at Western Mich- igan University, Kalamazoo. Allan Cutler, assistant professor of Judaic studies and Medieval comparative religions at Temple University, Philadelphia, organized the sessions with the cooperation of Prof. John R. Sommerfeldt, di- rector of the Medieval Institute of Western Michigan University. Thursday, sessions were on "Mai- monides" and "Freedom and Au- thority" and today's on "Jewish- , Christian Relations" and "Liter- Papers will be edited by Prof. Cutler in a volume of Studies in Medieval Judaism which will be published in part with the aid of Western Michigan University. Gewertz, 19425 Sussex, is one of 45 students gradu- ated Thursday as a practical nurse at the 17th commencement exer- cises of Sinai Hospital of Detroit's Shapero School of Nursing. These Shapero students, who now are qualified to take the state license ex- amination (none have ever failed), bring the total of graduates to 675. The graduation program was held at the Jewish Center. The school, endowed by the Cunningham and Shapero Foundations, was estab- lished in September 1956. Tannenbaum-Press Troth Is Announced `Hitler Daughter's' Betrot to Rabbi's Son Denied The Paris correspondent of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, Ben Porat, has labeled as "fantastic" a story published in Israel that the natural daughter of Adolf Hitler was to wed the son of a rabbi. The article, originally published three months ago in Haolam Haze, the Israeli weekly, was picked up by several newspapers in this country. One that appeared in the Indianapolis Star was brought to The Jewish News' attention. A cable from Porat instructed The Jewish News: "Stop. The Story Is Not True. Stop." Its concern will be with community responsibilities for strengthening the quality of Jew- ish education to make it most helpful to the children and adults served and to the community as a whole. The Council and the American Association for Jewish Education are cooperating closely in the work of the committee, whose chairman is Mandell Berman of Detroit.
