The Women's Auxiliary to the
Maimonides Medical Society will
present its 20th annual fund-raising
fashion show and luncheon at the
Sheraton-Cadillac Hotel noon Tues-
day.
A collection of spring couturier
fashions has been assembled for
a "Fashion Jubilee" which will be
presented in the Grand Ballroom.

Jewish Teachers Seminary
to Honor Mrs. Lehman

NEW YORK — Mrs. Herbert H.
Lehman will be guest of honor
at the annual banquet of. the
Jewish Teachers Seminary Sunday
at the Americana Hotel. She will
be presented with a citation in
commemoration of the 30th an-
niversary of the issuance of a
charter to the seminary during
the gubernatorial administration of
Herbert H. Lehman.
A veteran leader in the Ameri-
can labor movement, Joseph Sch-
lossberg, also will be feted at the
banquet in recognition of his 90th
birthday with the establishment of
a special student scholarship fund
bearing his name.

Rabbi Wine to Speak

Birmingham Temple will hold
the third in a series of book re-
views 1:30 p.m..Wednesday at the
Huntley Square Community Cen-
ter. Rabbi Sherwin Wine will re-
view Muriel Sparks' "The Mandel-
baum Gate." Refreshments will be

PW Book Review Slated

Mrs. Frank Rath, vice president
of education for the Council of
Pioneer Women, announces that
the next book review will be held
1:30 p.m. Saturday at the home of

Mrs. Jacob Segal will review
"The Town Beyond the Wall" by
Elie Wiesel. Guests are welcome.

Maimon has stimulated the aux-
iliary to follow his teachings
"for the benefit of mankind."
To date, the women's service
projects have included the educa-
tion of medical doctors at Wayne
State University, the University of
Michigan and the Hebrew Univer-
sity Medical School; a clinical re-
search laboratory at the Hadassah-
Hebrew University Medical Center
and a lecture room for the aca-
demic use of doctors and nurses
at Sinai hospital; rehabilitation of
handicapped Israeli veterans by
furnishing them with prosthetic
appliances; aid to the Bellefaire
School for emotionally disturbed
children, Detroit Association for
Retarded Children; the visually
handicapped through the Depart-
ment of Special Education, De-
troit; Jewish Institute for the
Blind, Israel; and at the Wayne
County Training School, North-
ville.
The annual donor event and sou-
venir book provide the resources
enabling the auxiliary to maintain
and support their projects.

NW Young Israel Women to
Host Town Hall Closer

The final session of the current
Town Hall Lecture Series, spon-
sored by the Great Lakes Chap-
ter, Women's Br a n c h, Union of
Orthodox Jewish Congregations of
America, will be held 10 a.m. Mon-
day at Young Israel Center of
Northwest.
Rabbi Max Kapustin of Wayne
State University's Hillel Founda-
tion will discuss "The Chosen
People," after a continental break-
fast. All members of affiliated sis-
terhoods are invited.

Mrs. Harry Brown, Dr. Raven on List of Top Ten Women

Two local women, Sylvia Brown
and Dr. Clara Raven, have been
named to the list of Top Ten Work-
ing Women in Detroit.
Mrs. Brown is executive direc-
tor of the Children's Leukemia
Foundation of Michiga n. Dr.
Raven, a retired U.S. Army col-
onel, is deputy medical examiner
of Wayne County.
Mrs. Brown and Dr. Raven were
honored at a Salute to Women
Who Work Week Banquet Tuesday
at Cobo Hall, at which Mayor
Cavanagh presented them with
keys to the city. The annual event
is sponsored by the Central Busi-
ness District Association.
