Melvin Duchan, 22, Killed in Auto Trip Through Negev An automobile accident took the life of 22-year-old Melvin Duchan Feb. 17, when he and two friends were on a motor tour of the Negev between semesters at Bar Ilan University. Mr. Duchan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Duchan, active members of the Orthodox community here, was a Wayne State University gradu- ate. He was doing research work in psychology on a fellowship at Bar Ilan and had been in Israel since September. He graduated in Expert on Revolution; Testified on Protocols PALO ALTO—One of the world's leading experts and writers on the Russian Revolution, Boris I. Ni- colaevsky, died Tuesday at age 78. A non-Jew, he testified in 1934 against the notorious "Protocols of the Elders of Zion" documents. He was curator of the Nicolaev- sky Collection at the Hoover Insti- tution on War, Revolution and Peace at Stanford University at the time of his death. Nicolaevsky told a cantonal court in Berne, Switzerland, in 1934, that the Protocols were false. This col- lection purports to reveal plans for Jewish world domination, and the anti-Semitic forgeries were revived by the Nazis in the 19305. Jewish groups in Switzerland brought criminal libel actions and won them in 1935. OBITUARIES GERSON ALEXANDER,20085 Votrobeck Ct., died Feb. 17.
