News Brevities

A delightful bit of comedy fare is
in the offing for theater lovers this
weekend as the Theater Guild of
Livonia-Redford presents "LULL-
ABY" at the Franklin High audi-
torium in Livonia. ESTELLE ("Val-
ya") GOODMAN stars as the lov-
ably domineering mother who hits
the ceiling when her middle-aged
Johnny marries a beautiful chorus
girl. Miss Goodman, a Guild mem-
ber for three years, is also an avid

dance enthusiast and will accom-
pany the local Arthur Murray
troupe to Chicago on May 1 to
compete in the tango division.
"Lullaby" performances are at 8:30
p.m., today and Saturday.

MISS PATRICIA DANTO

At a cocktail party, Mr. and
Mrs. Robert V. Danto of Pingree
Ave. announced the engagement
of their daughter Patricia-Ann to
Robert E. Baer, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Simon S. Baer of Pieadilly
Ave.
The bride-to-be, a biology major
at the University of Michigan, is a
member of Alpha Epsilon Phi
Sorority and Alpha Lambda Delta
Women's Honor Sorority.
Her fiance recently received his
bachelor of arts degree from the
University of Michigan, where he
majored in accounting. He is a
member of Beta Alpha Psi, na-
tional accounting fraternity.
The couple plans a December
wedding.

Sinai Rotating Lectures
Set for Doctors, Attorneys

Andrew S. Watson, department
of psychiatry, University of Mich-
igan, will present a series of eight
lectures in the Sinai Hospital Ro-
tating Lecture Series 7:30 p.m.
Wednesdays in the division of psy-
chiatry.
Under the general topic, "Fren-
sic Psychiatry", Dr. Watson will
touch on the following:
Legal Propositions, March 2;
Psychiatric Roles and Functions in
the Legal Process, March 16;
Criminal Responsibility: General
Concepts, Monday, March 21;
Tests of Criminal Responsibility
and Their Application, March 23!
Competency: Its Varied Meanings,
March 30; Civil Commitments:
Standards and Procedures, April 6;
Psychiatric Aspects of Tort Law,
April 20; Confidentiality and Priv-
ileged Communication, April 27.
All physicians and lawyers in
the Detroit area are invited. Be-
cause space is limited, prior res-

dance and flamenco, the name of

be mentioned, and it will be Greco
and his company of talented ar-

tists who will demonstrate their
skills at Detroit's Masonic Audi-
torium Saturday, in a single even-
ing performance.

The AMERICAN BALLET
THEATER, world's most traveled
ballet company, comes to Detroit's
Masonic Auditorium on Wed.,
March 16, following a highly suc-
cessful season at New York's
Lincoln Center. Hailed by audi-
ences and critics of five contin-
ents: Europe, Asia, Africa, and
North and South America, the com-
pany has performed in 37 foreign
countries, including the Soviet
Union, and has appeared in vir-
tually all states of the U.S.

The third annual FLOWER and
GARDEN SHOW of Michigan, with
the State Fair Authority producing
it for the first time this year, will
be held in the State Fair Coliseum
and dairy buildings March 26
through April 3.

PHILIP BURTON, assisted by
Christian Alderson, will present "A
Pageant of Kings," when they ap-
pear at Detroit Town Hall in Fisher

Theater at 11 a.m. Wednesday
These dramatic thumbnail sketches
are from Shakespeare's "Richard
II;" "Henry IV," Parts 1 and 2;
"Henry V;" "Henry VI, Parts 1,
2, and 3; and "Richard III." They
are plays dealing with the famous
War of the Roses.

The Anti-Defamation League of
Bnai Brith published the first is-
sue of "LAW," a new periodical
for "lay and professional workers
in the field of human relations."
It contains a detailed breakdown
and analysis of all civil rights leg-
islation adopted in state legisla-
tiu-es throughout the nation in
1965.

LINDA ZALLA, 21275 Indepen-
dence, Sounthfield, is exhibiting a
watercolor painting at the Wayne
State University art education
alumni exhibit in the Community
Arts Building through March 9.

Dr. Harold Davidson Consultant to JFCS

Dr. Harold H. Davidson has been
added to the staff of the Jewish
Family and Children's Service as
part-time psychiatric consultant, it
was announced by Samuel Lerner,
director. Dr. Davidson will begin
consultations with the agency
March 3.
Dr. Davidson, an analyst for
both adults and children, is a
graduate of the Institute for Psy-
choanalysis, Chicago. He has many
years of experience as instructor
of child psychiatry to medical
students and consultant to visiting
teachers of the Pontiac School
System, to the Clinic for Child
Study, Wayne County Juvenile
Court, Receiving Hospital's depart-
ment of psychiatry and a student
social work unit from Wayne State
University's School of social work.

Lerner noted that the JFCS
agency is in the process of in-

creasing its emphasis on early
treatment of emotional disturb-
ances in children and adoles-
cents. It will begin a series of
staff seminars on child treat-
ment March 4.

reational Club, including many
veterans, will hold its annual Pu-
rim party in conjunction with a Pa-
triotic Luncheon at the Center
noon Thursday.
Joseph Shapiro, club president,
said members of Rosenwald Post,
of which he is past commander,
and auxiliary will be present, and
a group of enlisted men from Self-
ridge Air Base will be guests.
Speaker will be Lt. Col. F. S.
Weber, who returned from Viet-
nam this month after serving there
for one year. He was awarded the
Vietnam Ar Force Medal of Hon-
or for his services rendered in
Vietnam.
The same evening, the Center
will hold its annual Brotherhood
Week program, in which Rosen-
wald Post will participate.
