Turk Prujan- ski tried to get a word in about kicking off the Detroit chapter and had to settle for introducing the visitors and celebrities . . • Then Jerry Webber took over as master and the fun began . . . This is a great organization and doing won- derful work . . . It's a lot of laughs for a very worthy cause .. . He and Harry Richman will prob- ably attend the next one . . . The date will soon be announced and a bulletin will be put out for all the members. AN AMERICAN TOURIST friend of Morry Alterman was gazing down into the crater- of a famous Greek volcano . . . Well, that'll be the case on Friday nights and Saturdays at the new Imperial Strictly Kosher Restaurant which opens Feb. 15, on Wyoming . . . Of course, it won't be free, but arrangements will be made for payment other than during the Sabbath hours' . . . Detroit, with over 85,000 Jewish people, de- finitely needs a strictly kosher restaurant! . . . Not to have one is ridiculous .. . NEVADA IS FAMOUS for its gambling . . . This is one place, writes Sam Dictor, where money isn't everything . . . If you stay there long enough, says Sam, its nothing. DRIVE BY TOO FAST and you'll miss it, but what delicious steaks . . . It's called Joe's Sizzling Steaks and owned by Joe Urbanski at 4619 Chene, between Garfield and Forest . . . It has a little red front and a small neon sign with the gas flickering out . . . Inside holds about 60 people, with a plain wooden floor, and the steaks are served on steel plates . . . But pay careful attention to the hours .. . During the week, it's only open from 11 to 3 p.m., and on Satur- days, 5 p.m. to 12:30 a.m Closed Sundays . . . We heartily recommend Joe's Sizzling Steaks. Catholic College ario's NEW YORK ( J T A) — The world premiere of Prof. Martin Buber's "Elijah" was given at the Little Theatre of the Manhattan- vile College of the Sacred Heart at Purchase, N.Y. The play was translated into English by Prof. Maurice Freidman, formerly phi- losophy professor at Sarah Law- rence College. The play has 23 scenes and 66 roles and 25 actors. It tells the story of Elijah's being summoned by God to save Israel from idolatry and worship of Baal.
