Israel's Richest Man Runs World Empire NEW YORK (JTA) — Israel's richest man, Moshe Mayer, 56, has been described by Fortune maga- zine as an entrepreneur who finds Israel too small to contain his energies. Hence, his diverse business in- terests are spread all over the world, and Mayer has offices in New York, Geneva, London, Abid- jan and Monrovia. He is repre- sented by agencies and affiliates in 22 countries. In a profile, "Israel's Peripatetic Builder," the magazine reported that Mayer, with two brothers and a sister, runs some 50 firms "whose activities range from making toys and ready-mixed concrete to bank- ing and construction. His Liberian Construction Co. "has changed the skyline of Liberia's capital, Moravia. His activities include the Ivorie Hotel in Abidjan, considered one of the most beautiful in the world.
