Charles H. Gershenson Is Greeted
on 65th Birthday, Occurring Dec. 25

A former successful Allied Jew-
ish Campaign chairman is receiv-
ing an avalanche of 7reetings on
the occasion of his 65th birthday
which he will observe Saturday.
Charles H. Gershenson, who was
born in New York, Dec. 25, 1900,
was brought here in his early
youth by his parents, the late
Nathan and Mali Gershenson. He
is a graduate of Highland Park
High School and he received his
law degree at the University of
Michigan in 1926.
He practiced law here and was
president of Ned's Auto Supply
until 1954 when the business was
sold to Firestone Tire and Rubber

......................

Gershenson is especially dedi-
cated to the educational commu-
nity tasks to which he first was
appointed by Governor Romney
and which he continues by his
reappointment and as a Wayne
State University Governor
Emeritus. He pointed out that
there are vast opportunities for
continuation of studies and for
training in vocational areas as
a result of state and government
allocations in our high schools,
and he expressed the hope that
these opportunities will be fully
made use of by high school stu-
dents.
Gershenson is married to the
former Doris Fisher and has a
married daughter, Frederica Kel-
ler, and a son, Ned Peter.
