Among the leaders of Adas Shalom Synagogue spearheading pre-
parations for a Jewish Theological Seminary luncheon Dec.
10, at Standard City Club, are Max Biber, Rabbi Leonard Cahan,
Norman Cottler, Ben Goldberg, Harry J. Goldberg, Max Goldsmith,
Harry Kraft, Jule Kraft, Norman I. Leeman, Samuel Leib, Isadore
Muskovitz, and A. I. Morrison. Also, Albert Posen, Julius Pollak,
David Rosen, Rabbi Jacob E. Segal, Sidney Shevitz, Rudolph Shulman,
Dr. Sidney 0. Siegan, Samuel S. Simmer, Al Skiare, Morris Tulupman,
and Harold Warren. The luncheon, hosted by David Safran, will
inaugurate the Detroit Conservative community's observance of the
Seminary's year-long 80th anniversary. Rabbi Segal will speak on the
significance of the nation-wide celebration. He was ordained by the
Seminary in 1939.
Mrs. Helen Ratner and Mrs. Regina Feuer of Detroit will be
among 200 delegates from 20 cities in the United States and Canada
attending the National Conference of Americans for Progressive
Israel—Hashomer Hatzair, this weekend at the Belmont Plaza Hotel,
New York City. Mrs. Ratner is a member of the National Council of
API-HH. Mrs. Feuer, also a National Council member, serves on the
Aliya Committee of the Detroit Zionist Council. "Peace in the Middle
East and Preservation of Jewish Values in the Diaspora" will be the
theme of the conclave devoted to the problems facing Israel and Jews
throughout the world.
Among the guests attending the wedding of Marlene Rosen and
William Russell were Mitchell Goldstein and Mr. and Mrs. Mathew
Heidenberg of Caracas, Venezuela; Misses Claudine Barker and Annie
Anger of Paris; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kafferman and Mr. Charles Kaf-
ferman of New York, Dr. and Mrs. Joseph Guller, Mrs. Francis Guller
and Mr. Sidney from St. Louis; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bergower and Mr.
and Mrs. Ben Klerty of Muncie, Ind.; Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Cooper of
Miami Beach; Mrs. Frances Pessman and Mr. and Mrs. Michael Rosen
of Los Angeles; and Miss Barbara Rose of Chicago.
Detroit Alumnae of Phi Sigma Sorority will get together with
Beta Lambda Chapter of Wayne State University for a Hanukah party
Dec. 15 at the home of Mrs. Louis Milgrom of Nottingham Dr., Frank-
lin. Proceeds will go toward the Michigan Heart Association. Mrs.
Don Kelter of the Detroit Alumnae group will pour. The sorority held
its Founders Day banquet recently at Eta Chapter's house in Ann Ar-
bor. Wayne State members and alumnae also attended.

The bride wore a gown of
peau de soie and rose pointe
lace. She carried an orchid on
her confirmation Bible.
Matron of honor was the bride's
sister, Mrs. Judy Novak. Brides-
maids were Mrs. Barbara Schuler,
Mrs. Sandra Mitchell and Benie
Lieberman. Junior bridesmaid was
Lisa Wolovits, and flower girl was
Debra Ann Novak.

best man. Ushers were Ronald
