Senior Citizens Asked to Program, 'Going Like 50' The Metropolitan Detroit Bnai Brith Men's and Women's Councils and their Community and Veter- ans' Services Committees invite all senior citizens of the community to a special "Going Like 50" program 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Cong. Gemi- luth Chassodim. This is the first in a series of monthly programs specially design- ed for the senior citizen. Topic for this Sunday will be "Your Social Security and Health Insurance Problems." Josephine Jackson, field repre- sentative of the Social Security Administration, will explain the 1965 amendments to the Social Security Act, with special em- phasis on health insurance for the aged and the provisions of the Medicare program which come into effect next July 1. A social program will follow the speaker. Pearl Kaplan and Max Miller, soprano and baritone duet, will perform along with Allan Haller, pantomimist, and Dave Se- karek, dancer. At this meeting mutual interest groups, such as singing, arts and crafts, sewing, discussion groups, movies, Hebrew, Yiddish and games, will be organized for the older citizens under the direction of Bnai Brith volunteers, who are specialists in these fields. American BB Leaders Hold Meeting in Chile VALPARAISO, Chile (JTA) — Some 120 delegates from 16 coun- tries met here for a convention of the Latin American district of Bnai Brith. Among those taking part in the convention program were Dr. Wil- liam Wexler, international presi- dent of Bnai Brith, and Saul E. Jeftes, director of its international council. Manuel Bianchi Gundian, president of the Interamerican Commission of Human Rights of the Organization of American States, was awarded the Bnai Brith Human Rights Medal of Merit. Delegations taking part in the convention represented lodges in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Curacao, Ecuador, G u a t e m a l a, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, P a r a g u a y, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela.
