RICHMOND, Va. (JTA)—Ameri-
can Nazi Party leader George
Rockwell won at least 6,312 votes
—more than 1 per cent of the
total ballots cast — in his unsuc-
cessful bid for the governorship
of Virginia.
Surprise was voiced in some
quarters that Rockwell, whose
nazism is notorious throughout the
state, was able to poll that many
votes when right-wing Virginians
rallied behind the Conservative
Party's William J. Story, a militant
segregationist and member of the
John Birch Society.

Sir Isaac Wolfson Gives
$980,000 to British School

LONDON (JTA) — A new
biochemistry building financed in
part by Sir Isaac Wolfson, the
British Jewish leader, was formal-
ly opened by the Imperial College
of Science and Technology here
Monday in the presence of the
Queen Mother Elizabeth and other
dignitaries.
Sir Isaac contributed 350,000
pounds sterling ($980,000) to the
structure which cost more than
1,000,000 pounds ($2,800,000) to
build.
