FOLKS WHO CAN'T find Gu-
lio's on Mitchell Ave., need not be
concerned that the place isn't there
anymore . . . Only the name has
been changed at this popular little
Italian eatery . . . Gulio's was the
original name when bought two
years ago by Adolph Cardinali and
wife Antonette . . . They use their
own name now . . . Cardinali's is
the only spot in Detroit that pre-
pares food the way they do in the
Northern part of Italy, using no
tomatoes . . . They make their own
wine and prepare all dishes to or-
der . . . Those with patience will
thoroughly enjoy this quaint little
eatery.
FOLLOWERS OF pianist Pat
Flowers will be interested in know-
ing that he is appearing at the
Danish Inn in Farmington.
THIS DRINK IS called a Dar-
by Sour . To one rounded bar-
spoon Powered Sugar, add oz.
Lime Juice, 1/2 oz. Grapefruit
Juice, and 11/2-oz. Gin. . .
Shake with cracked ice and
strain into a Whiskey Sour Par-
fait Glass ... Top with Seltzer
and decorate with a red or green
cherry.
LIKE ANY OTHER major city.
Detroit has some interesting and
colorful restaurants and clubs .. .
Once an ambassador's residence,
the dining rooms at Little Harry's
on Jefferson are still reminiscent
of a well-appointed Federal Period
home House specialties are rec-
ommended . . • At Mayfield Chop
House on Griswold, oil paintings
add charm to this popular down-
town restaurant where tenderloin
tips are a specialty . . . Bronze
Door is the name of the place, and
the Renaissance bronze doors de-
picting "Victory" typify the art
of that period and this fine restau-
rant on Kercheval with its excel-
lent food, service and beverage ...
Middle Eastern dishes are featured
at Cedars Lounge on W. Columbia,
with- Shish kebab, stuffed grape
leaves recommended . . . Lighting,
fixtures from India, c eilitg-touch-
ing palm trees, wrought-iron lattice
provide the atmosphere ... Middle-
East entertainment ...Popular, in-
timate cabaret in the New Center
area on Second is Hello Dolly for
viewing discotheque by the Inter-
national Dancing Dollies in their
native costumes . . . Features tele-
phones at every table for calls to
other tables, the bar or your office
.. Pink Panther on corner of St.
Antoine and Lafayette, has plush

surroundings for a swinging eve-
ning with dancing . . . Purple On-
ion on John R and Montcalm is an
intimate club f ea t u r i n g dis-
cotheque dancers.
OVERHEARD at local travel
agency by Joe Franovitz . .. Two
matronly ladies talking to agent,
"We'd like to get completely away
from civilization, near some nice
shopping district."
