Dr. Haber became chairman of the ORT Central Board in 1955 and has traveled widely through- out the world visiting the 625 schools and training units of ORT. HAIFA (JTA)—The Haifa In- stitute of Technology announced plans for a five-year,. $50,000,000 development plan to enlarge its un- dergraduate capacity to 5,000 stu- dents. Most of the money is to be raised by overseas friends of the Tech- nion. The Israel government has pledged to provide 25 per cent of the total cost, according to Alex- ander Goldberg, Technion presi- dent. Goldberg joined with Vice Presi- dent David Ginsburg, who drew up the expansion plan, to report to a press conference on the Technion school year which opened Tuesday. The officials reported that of 1,440 candidates for admission, 820 had been enrolled. Goldberg also re- ported that the Technion was try- ing to recruit top-flight instructors in the United States to cope with the Technion teacher problem.
