Mount Clemens Baths Praised for Curative Value of Mineral Water Mount Clemens is the place where $3 can still buy a mineral bath and a massage. To the sufferer of arthritis that's not to be sniffed at. Take, for example, Max Elkin's Colonial Hotel and Mineral Baths, considered one of America's finest. Known for years for its curative mineral waters, the spa was praised, along with its neighbors, in a recent newspaper testimonial by a Williamsburg, Va., motel own- er. An arthritis sufferer 17 years, he said his twice yearly trips to Mount Clemens have helped him more than any spa on the continent. "Mount Clemens has the most _precious thing in the world to advertise . .. relief from the pain of arthritis. It's really a crime that the thousands of people who suffer from arthritis aren't aware of your town," he wrote. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Schwartz Detroit, Michigan 1 9410 Stratford L19 In his new book, the Detroit physician states, "Although mil- lions of people are drinking water containing fluoride, hard- ly a hospital in this country is equipped to analyze blood, urine and vital organs for their fluor- ride content." The author blames the difficulty of diagnosis for the failure of physicians to pinpoint toxic conditions that are related to fluoride's long-term ill effects. "A S t r u g g l e with Titans" describes case histories, research, people and political events sur- rounding the controversy. Dr. Waldbott, is a fellow of the American College of Physicians, also of the American College of Allergists and the A m e r i c an Academy of Allergy.
