Ground was broken Monday for
the new B. Benedict Glazer Ele-
mentary School at 12th St. and La-
Belle Ave. The $1,450,000 building
is named for the late rabbi of
Temple Beth El, who died in 1952.
Participants in the ground-break-
ing ceremonies were members of
Dr. Glazer's family, school and

city officials. To be completed in
time for the September 1966 school
opening, the facility will have
capacity for 896 students.
Louis G. Redstone was architect.

Twelve designs created by Hubert de Givenchy, foremost Parisian
couturier, and more than 30 models fashioned by Israel's greatest de-
signers and manufacturers, will be featured in the exciting Givenchy-
Israel fashion show and luncheon noon Oct. 14 at the Latin Quarter.

eran of over 30 years in the field.
As design consultant to Michael
S. Downes, the architect, Serota
drew upon his wealth of experi-
ence gained from numerous visits
to the Continent where he con-
ducted an extensive personal study
of French Provincial architecture
to execute the design.
As a result, the eight-building,
200-unit Chateau Riviera apart-
ment development will be embel-
lished with numerous elegant
touches including wrought iron
framed balconies for every apart-
ment.
In this setting, Serota and
Downes have kept in mind the
needs and preference of the mod-
ern apartment family—incorporat-
ing space as well as quality.

The Brith Milah Board of New
York has elected Rabbi LEO
JUNG, of the Jewish Center in
New York, as president, succeed-
ing Rabbi Simon G. Kramer.
