Issues involving accusation of
appeals to the Jewish vote already
have been raised.
Beame is the first Jew to be
nominated for Mayor of New York.
Lindsay has the support of a
number of liberals.

50-Year Law
Practitioners
to Get Honors

A group of men who have in
active practice of law for 50 years
will be honored Thursday at the
annual convention of the State Bar
of Michigan at the Sheraton Cadi-
llac Hotel.
Among those who will be honored
will be Aaron Droock, Seymour
J. Frank, Morris Garvett, Louis
Danziner and Samuel Reiss.
Members of the Detroit College
of Law class of 1915 who recently
passed away included Aaron Fell-
man, Fred A. Ginsburg and Abra-
ham Srere.
A reception is being arranged
for noon Thursday in honor of the
50-year lawyers and their wives.
Appropriate certificates and lapel
pins will be presented to each of
the lawyers.

BOMBAY — The memory of
Col. Joseph Ephraim Jhirad, a
Jewish officer killed Sept. 17 in
action appinst Pakistan was hon-
ored Wednesday by the Bombay
Central Jewish Board.
H. Cynocicz, president of the
board, said that Col. Jhirad was a
"Faithful Son" of the Jewish peo-
ple of India who served his coun-
try bravely and "laid down his
life defending Its integrity and
freedom."
The board, meanwhile, assured
Prime Minister Shastri of the full-
est support of Indian Jews to the
government "to repel any agress-
ion." Special prayers for security
and peace will be preached in all
synagogues at the High Holy Days,
the board said.
