Jewish Conciliation Week'
Proclaimed in New York
NEW YORK (JTA) — Mayor
Robert F. Wagner proclaimed
"Jewish Conciliation Week" in
honor of the 45th anniversary of
the Jewish Conciliation Board of
American as a free court of arbitra-
tion. The anniversary also marks
the 35th year of Dr. Israel Gold-
stein's presidency of the board.
In his proclamation, Mayor
Wagner paid tribute to the Jew-
ish Conciliation Board as "a unique
organization, serving as a free
court of arbitration, which has
combined the wisdom of the Torah,
the authority of the law and the
compassion of humanity in render-
ing its decisions in many thousands
of cases."
